What current public records actually show

Trust begins by stating the evidence accurately.

White Plains reported compliance with all applicable drinking-water standards in 2025. That does not make point-of-use treatment unnecessary; it tells us which treatment objectives should be discussed—and which claims should not be exaggerated.

The lawsuit and the water report answer different questions.
The July 2026 New York Attorney General action alleges PFAS pollution from consumer products throughout New York. The 2025 White Plains source-water test reported PFOA and PFOS as non-detect at Kensico.

Why an ordinary plumbing proposal is not enough

Water treatment is a design discipline—not merely a pipe connection.

A complete design combines plumbing code, membrane chemistry, carbon selection, hydraulic pressure, tank drawdown, tubing diameter, peak demand and future serviceability.

RFPure keeps water analysis, equipment selection, installation and commissioning under one chain of responsibility.

Can the proposed system answer these six questions?

No specifications checked. A stage count is not an engineering submittal.
A system in which every stage has one job

Purify first. Rebuild taste only after purification.

The basic RFPure architecture separates pre-treatment, membrane rejection, ionic polishing and delivery capacity. Optional remineralization occurs after the water has been purified.

1

Sediment protection

Removes suspended material and protects carbon and membrane surfaces from premature fouling.

2

Selected carbon

Reduces chlorine or other oxidants and selected organics using media chosen for the actual feed water.

3

FilmTec RO

Separates dissolved ions using a published thin-film composite membrane model and defined test conditions.

4

DI polishing

Mixed-bed ion exchange captures residual ionic material that passes the membrane.

5

Engineered delivery

Tank capacity, tubing and optional pump are sized around the fixture’s required flow—not cabinet appearance.

Optional: calcium and magnesium can be added after purification when the customer prefers a mineral taste profile.

1. The Complete RFPure Named-Component, Laboratory-Verified RO/DI System

RFPure Verified RO/DI

A professionally engineered, open-architecture purification system built from individually specified components manufactured by DuPont FilmTec™, ResinTech®, Omnipure®, Amtrol®, Clack® and John Guest®. Every membrane, resin bed, cartridge, storage tank and treatment stage remains independently serviceable, testable and upgradeable.

$3,395Installed · Tested · Verified

Not a “Five-Stage RO System.” A Named-Component Purification Platform.

“Five-stage RO” describes only how many plastic housings were attached to a bracket. It does not identify membrane rejection, deionization capacity, storage-water contact materials, delivery flow, mineral chemistry or whether the finished water was ever laboratory verified.

Most local proposals identify only a cabinet, stage count and selling price. RFPure identifies the membrane chemistry, resin manufacturer, storage-tank construction, tubing architecture, mineral formulation, laboratory panel and measured acceptance standard before installation.

DuPont FilmTec™ 99% RO Membrane

Genuine BW60-1812-75 high-rejection membrane producing 75 GPD at DuPont’s published test conditions, with 99% typical stabilized salt rejection and 96% minimum rejection.

ResinTech® Mixed-Bed DI Polishing

A dedicated post-membrane deionization bed captures residual ionic contaminants that pass through reverse osmosis before any optional minerals are deliberately added back.

Omnipure® Pretreatment Cartridges

Individually replaceable sediment, activated-carbon and specialty pretreatment cartridges selected according to the customer’s measured municipal or groundwater chemistry.

Amtrol® High-Purity RO Storage

Polypropylene-lined diaphragm storage prevents purified water from contacting the painted steel pressure shell. Select twin 5-gallon, single 10-gallon or 14-gallon storage at no additional charge.

John Guest® 3/8-Inch Distribution

NSF-certified drinking-water tubing and engineered push-fit connections replace the restrictive 1/4-inch plumbing commonly used in residential RO systems.

Selectable Clack® Mineral Profile

Choose mineral-free DI water, calcium-balanced water or a controlled calcium-magnesium profile after purification. Remineralization is installed downstream of the DI stage in a separate replaceable bed.

RFPour™ Minimum 1.5 GPM Delivery Architecture

High-flow storage connections, 3/8-inch distribution tubing and a stocked high-volume faucet provide substantially greater delivery than conventional 1/4-inch residential RO systems. Selected tank and faucet combinations can be engineered for still higher flow.

99.99% Reduction Target · 100% Target-Analyte Non-Detect Guarantee

Every RFPure installation begins with the selected Tap Score laboratory panel. The system is then configured around the contaminants measured at the customer’s tap. For each agreed target analyte, RFPure’s acceptance standard is below the laboratory reporting limit. If an agreed target analyte remains detectable after installation, RFPure modifies the treatment configuration and pays for the confirmatory retest.

How the verification standard is measured

Verification is based on laboratory analysis, not solely on a handheld TDS meter. TDS indicates total ionic conductivity but does not identify individual contaminants. The acceptance standard is established for specifically named analytes in the selected laboratory panel.

Included With Every System: RFPure Guardian™ 10-Day Monitored Commissioning

Installation day is not the end of the project. Every RFPure system receives temporary one- or two-channel multi-point leak detection for its first 10 days of operation. Any detected water condition alerts the customer and RFPure so the installation can be evaluated immediately.

After approximately 10 days, our team returns to inspect the installation, verify product-water TDS, test storage-tank pressure and drawdown, answer questions and confirm that the system is performing at its intended level. The temporary commissioning sensors are then removed unless the customer selects a permanent Guardian leak-detection package below.

Multi-point electronic observationOne or two sensor locations selected around the RO equipment, storage or nearby risk points.
Rapid service escalationCustomer and RFPure alerts with an emergency technician available in under 60 minutes for an installation-related event.
Mandatory return verificationTDS, storage-tank pressure, drawdown, fittings and customer-use review approximately 10 days later.
2. Choose the Included Storage Arrangement

These three arrangements are the same price. RFPure confirms usable drawdown and cabinet fit from photographs.

3. Choose the Included DuPont FilmTec Membrane

Both membranes are followed by DI polishing. Choose maximum published rejection or increased production.

4. Choose the Included Post-RO Purity and Mineral Profile

Every RFPure system includes ResinTech® mixed-bed deionization after the DuPont FilmTec membrane. Purification and remineralization remain separate so the mineral bed cannot interfere with the DI process.

5. Choose One of Five Included High-Flow Faucet Styles

All five faucets use the RFPure high-flow water path. Exact stocked photographs, dimensions, reach and available finishes are shown before final approval.

Optional specialty dispensing:

6. Select RFPour Delivery

RFPour is the engineered combination of tank drawdown, tubing diameter, valve restriction and optional pumping. Flow is verified at the faucet during commissioning.

7. Choose Laboratory Verification

The base system includes one post-installation Advanced City Water report. Add a raw-water baseline to calculate actual percentage reduction.

8. Permanent RFPure Guardian™ Leak Detection

Temporary one- or two-channel leak monitoring is automatically included during the 10-day commissioning period. Because the hub, Wi-Fi setup and engineering visit are already part of the installation, permanent multi-point protection is available at a substantially reduced installed price.

Designed for the Events That Occur When Nobody Is Watching

Permanent monitoring is particularly useful at the water heater and incoming service area during freezing weather, in mechanical rooms, beneath appliances and anywhere a slow leak could continue unnoticed. Sensor placement is confirmed during installation based on the actual plumbing layout.

9. Optional Whole-House Protection

This is the principal upgrade path. It protects plumbing, fixtures and the point-of-use system before water reaches the RO membrane.

10. Appliances, Dog Washing and Pure-Water Shower Options

Select every outlet you want RFPure to evaluate. Custom-scope items are flagged separately and are not represented as fixed-price work.

Require Any Competing Proposal to Identify the Same Specifications

Ask for the membrane manufacturer and rejection data, the DI resin manufacturer, the storage tank’s water-contact materials, the tubing diameter, the remineralization chemistry, the laboratory panel and the post-installation acceptance standard. A stage count alone answers none of those questions.

ORIGIN

Origin claims are component-specific. RFPure does not place a blanket “Made in USA” badge on a complete system merely because a manufacturer has an American office. U.S.-origin claims are tied to the exact SKU, package, tank label or supplier documentation.

Common questions

The fast answers.

Does meeting the legal standard mean the water contains nothing?
No. A compliant report can list detected constituents below regulatory limits. In 2025, White Plains reported compliance while also reporting measurable chlorine, TTHMs, HAA5, nitrate, fluoride and other constituents.
Why does RFPure use storage instead of relying only on membrane GPD?
Storage decouples slow membrane production from momentary fixture demand. The membrane can produce over time while the tank and delivery plumbing supply the higher instantaneous flow expected at a faucet or pot filler.
Why add DI after reverse osmosis?
RO provides the primary separation stage. Mixed-bed DI then removes residual ionic material that passes the membrane. The stages use different mechanisms and should not be described as interchangeable filters.
Is the complete RFPure system “Made in USA”?
RFPure uses component-specific origin claims. A complete-system Made in USA claim is used only when the complete assembly satisfies the applicable standard. Otherwise, the exact American-manufactured component is identified by model and documentation.
What happens after the installation is completed?
Every system remains in RFPure’s Guardian 10-day commissioning period with temporary one- or two-channel leak detection. RFPure then returns to verify product-water TDS, tank pressure and drawdown, inspect the fittings and answer questions. Customers may retain permanent four- or six-channel YoLink protection at the reduced installed price shown in the configurator.
